Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 27, 2025
Waves AI (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides tools to create and listen to AI-narrated audiobooks. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website and services (collectively, the “Service”).
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in (for example with Google), we receive identifiers and profile details provided by the authentication provider, such as your name, email address, and profile image, as applicable.
- Content you provide. If you upload manuscripts, text, or other materials to generate audiobooks, we process that content to operate the Service.
- Usage and device data. We may collect technical information such as browser type, device type, general location derived from IP address, pages viewed, and interactions with the Service, to improve performance and security.
- Payment information. Purchases and payouts are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers; we may receive transaction identifiers, subscription status, and related billing metadata necessary to provide paid features.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Authenticate users and secure accounts;
- Generate, store, and deliver audiobook content you request;
- Process payments, payouts, and subscriptions where applicable;
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the Service;
- Detect abuse, fraud, and technical issues;
- Comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We may share information with service providers that help us run the Service (for example cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, payment processing, and AI voice or speech services). These providers are permitted to use your information only as instructed by us and as described in their own terms and privacy notices.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), subject to applicable law.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and how you use the Service.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may be able to manage some information through your account or device settings. To make a privacy request, contact us using the options we provide in the Service.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers consistent with applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
